Understanding Acupuncture

How acupuncture works is not fully understood. However, there’s evidence that acupuncture may have effects on the central nervous system, and also produce effects on other body tissues. The insertion of fine needles into acupuncture points is believed to stimulate the release of natural chemicals, such as endorphins,  and neurotransmitters throughout the brain, spinal cord and muscles. It is believed these chemicals may then stimulate the body's natural healing abilities and may contribute to physical and emotionalwell-being.
